The trū Shrimp team pushes the boundaries of shrimp aquaculture every day. Though the team consists of a variety of backgrounds we all share the common goal of providing safe and abundant shrimp for the world.
President & CEO
Michael Ziebell has brought a highly strategic approach to The trū Shrimp Company. With many years of executive, strategic and marketing management experience, Mr. Ziebell leads the trū Shrimp team to a shared vision of the future. His 22 years with Schwan’s Company and 6 years leading a manufacturing company provides his foundation to lead the creation of the world’s first fully integrated shrimp company.
Mr. Ziebell earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and a Masters of Business Administration from Minnesota’s own University of St. Thomas.
Wiley Sharp III
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Wiley H. Sharp III brings with him over 30 years experience in the financial industry and an incredible passion for shrimp. His focus centers on financial planning for trū Shrimp.
Mr. Sharp graduated from Tulane University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in management.
Director of Operations & Government Relations
Mr. Gervais serves in a critical hands-on role as Director of Operations & Government Relations. He works daily to improve operational systems, processes and policies in support of trū Shrimp. Additionally, Mr. Gervais builds relationships with vendors and explores opportunities with commercial producers and processors.
Mr. Gervais previously served 14 years as Executive Director of the Economic Development Authority in Tracy, Minnesota.
Jessica Fox, DVM
Director of Veterinary Services & Biosecurity
As Director of Veterinary Services & Biosecurity, Dr. Fox integrates Ralco’s proprietary technologies throughout trū Shrimp. Dr. Fox brings a wide range of expertise in animal health and biosecurity to develop protocols and direct programs that will promote health and protect against disease in the trū Shrimp Harbors.
Dr. Fox earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical science from St. Cloud State University and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota. She also completed Cornell University’s AQUAVET® I, AQUAVET II and AQUAVET III, three highly competitive programs focused specifically on Aquatic Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Misael Rosales
Assistant Technical Director
Dr. Misael Rosales places a key focus on shrimp growth & overall health as Assistant Technical Director. Dr. Rosales brings valuable experience from his previous roles at a shrimp laboratory in Sonora, Mexico and his time at the Fish Nutrition Laboratory and Aquacultural Research and Teaching Facility of Texas A&M University.
Dr. Rosales graduated from the Universidad de Sonora in June 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in biology with emphasis in aquaculture. Dr. Rosales completed his doctoral research in the experimental station of the trū Shrimp Company and graduated from Texas A&M University in December 2017 with a Ph.D. in wildlife and fisheries sciences.
Director of Habitat & Microbiology
As Director of Habitat & Microbiology, Ms. Landsman collects and analyzes data to improve production processes and refine procedures for future Harbor operations. Ms. Landsman has over 11 years of experience in a pharmaceutical setting formulating vaccine products and managing a viral production line.
Ms. Landsman earned her Bachelor of Science in chemistry with a minor in biology from South Dakota State University.
Lisa Broderius, M.S.
Water Chemistry Manager
Ms. Broderius focuses her efforts in the water quality and animal health laboratories as Water Chemistry Manager with trū Shrimp. She examines and maintains the water quality throughout the systems, as well as assessing shrimp growth and health.
Ms. Broderius received her Bachelor of Science in environmental science with an emphasis in hydrology from Bemidji State University. She earned her Masters of Science in geology from University of Minnesota-Duluth.
Senior Process Engineer
In the role of Senior Process Engineer for trū Shrimp, Mr. Gross is refining methods for shrimp harvest, processing and packaging. Thorough testing and analysis has allowed Mr. Gross to make design enhancements to improve water quality and shrimp harvest efficiency for trū Shrimp Harbors.
Mr. Gross has nearly 20 years of experience in engineering, project management, process and product development. Mr. Gross earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
Sr. Business Systems Analyst
In the role of Senior Business Systems Analyst, Dan Radel is responsible for the complete Information Technologies (IT) life-cycle while enabling future growth with a fully integrated system.
From 2004-2017, Mr. Radel held multiple positions within IT at Schwan’s Shared Services, LLC. Dan graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management, and has over 20 years of experience in IT.
Ms. Brink-Thordson is charged with strategic market planning, development of go-to market brands and ongoing marketing planning for trū Shrimp as the Brand Manager. She has over 10 years of experience in food marketing, brand and message development, and new business ventures.
Ms. Brink-Thordson graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in marketing and a Bachelor of Science in business management. She received her MBA from St. Cloud State University in 2009.
